OUr TEam

Our Core

The people who lead the charity, develop programmes and support our day to day operations.

Behind every Basecamp adventure is a passionate team dedicated to helping young people discover what they're capable of.

From planning unforgettable experiences to building trusted relationships and supporting every step of the journey, our team brings together expertise in youth work, outdoor education and personal development. Together, we're committed to creating experiences that build confidence, resilience and a lifelong sense of belonging.

Jenny Wilson

Senior Programmes Manager

Jen heads up the Operations and Logistics side of our programmes and leads our Trusts and Foundations fundraising. She has been with Basecamp since the very beginning, first joining us as a volunteer, before setting up our fundraising operation, growing the charity enormously and stepping into a co-leadership role with Em.

Making ‘magic’ is Jen’s superpower. She has a real gift for bringing wonder, delight and joy to the mundane and the everyday.

Anna Billington

Programme Manager & Development Coordinator

Anna’s background in education, pastoral support and restorative practice brought her to Basecamp as a Programme Manager and Development Coordinator.

She is deeply knowledgeable when it comes to the needs of young people, the challenges they face today and how best to support them.

Anna has also single-handedly built our volunteering programme and is the anchor for our wonderful volunteers.

Rosie Barry

Programme Manager & Development Coordinator

With a background in Fine Art and several years of experience in youth development, Rosie is bringing her creative flair and eye for detail to all things Basecamp. Before moving to Leeds she spent her summers working as an Assistant Camp Director in upstate New York, at an overnight residential summer camp for teens. Rosie is excited to create magical experiences and give young people skills and memories that will last a lifetime!

Liam Mumford

Programme Manager & Events Lead

Liam is one of the newest members of our full-time team. He is an operations and programme leader with over ten years’ experience building, scaling and delivering people-focused services across youth, outdoor and community environments.

He is at his best when turning big ideas into reality and he joins the Basecamp team to do that by helping to build our events portfolio.

ADVENTURE YOUTH COACHES

Our talented and caring outdoor educators, teachers and facilitators who come from all walks of life. They live and breathe the outdoors and offer one to one support for all our young people in small coaching groups called ‘huddles’.

Board of Trustees

Our group of dedicated volunteers who provide strategic leadership, governance and oversight, helping ensure Basecamp continues to grow and deliver lasting impact for young people.

  • “The work itself is so rewarding, seeing the young people you work with grow so much across the year. The team has created such a supportive and warm environment that cushions you on the harder days. It's one of the best jobs I've ever had, and the only one where I can truly say I'd rather be here than somewhere else.”
